Gaming revenues in the US state of New Jersey increased 16.08 per cent in August, driven by growth at nearly every property.

In Atlantic City, casino revenue was strong with favourable hold in the majority of properties. The city’s newest casinos, Hard Rock and Ocean Casino, led growth as the properties continue to ramp up.

Caesars AC led legacy casino growth at 10.6 per cent and drove Caesars’ combined property growth of 5.31 per cent.

New Jersey’s other gambling options, igaming and sports betting, generated a combined $66,312m in revenue; igaming had its highest monthly revenue figure to date at $41,102m, with 65.7 per cent growth.

Golden Nugget, which has historically led igaming in terms of revenue generation, produced $14,986m in August. The next closest revenue generator, Resorts Digital, had just half of that.

Sports betting grew 174.53 per cent compared to last year, though there were 11 sports betting operators this year versus nine last year. August’s revenue rose 41 per cent compared to July’s.
