All electronic gaming machines and electronic table games in three properties run by The Star have been shut down following “system performance issues.”

The company has planned a series of upgrades in readiness for introducing cashless gaming, though post-upgrade testing revealed they would disrupt certain of the Star’s systems.

Treasury Brisbane, The Star Gold Coast and The Star Sydney all remain open with table games, restaurants, bars and entertainment available. The Star is working with external provider Konami to address the operational issues as swiftly as possible.

Meanwhile, the company has also confirmed that all necessary regulatory approvals for the appointments of Neale O’Connell and Janelle Campbell have been received.

O’Connell’s appointment as interim group CFO was announced in March, while Campbell’s appointment as CEO of The Star Sydney was announced in January.
