The Gaming Control Board in the US state of Pennsylvania has held the second in a series of auctions in a process that establishes the order in which the winning bidders select a location for a casino.

In the auction, in which four bids were received, Stadium Casino, which holds a Category 2 licence and will construct a casino in Philadelphia, was the high bidder with a bid of $40,100,005.

Stadium is a joint venture between the Cordish Companies and Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, which currently operates the Parx Casino in Bucks County.

The centre of the Category 4 location, which is an area 30 miles in diameter, chosen by Stadium Casino is located in Derry Township in Westmoreland County.
