This year’s Gambling Indaba trade show and conference in South Africa will move to Johannesburg and is set for October 9-11.

The venue is Emperors Palace. The event was held last year in Cape Town, where it attracted 20 exhibitors and a host of industry leaders. Johannesburg is viewed as the epicentre of gambling in South Africa, so the decision to move the event there is not unexpected.

“Africa needs its own global event, similar to ICE in London and G2E in Las Vegas,” said GI CEO Percy Kwinda. African suppliers, manufacturers and operators needed a venue at which to gather, network, share knowledge and create business opportunities. Kwinda added that some exhibitors had already booked space at the trade show.
