Slovenia may be the next European country to privatise casino operations.

Slovenia

The country’s government has submitted a plan to the European Commission to allow 15 casino licences and 45 smaller gaming hall permits.

In addition to this land-based expansion, Slovenia would also license i-gaming companies for 10-year periods, with optional five-year extensions. Sports betting would be allowed as part of the i-gaming approval.

Companies headquartered in Slovenia or other European Union countries would be eligible for licences. The EC could give approval as early as May 30.
