A sixth casino in West Virginia, US, has won approval from the state senate.

West Virginia state assembly

According to Senate Bill 492, the Franklin County development would require a minimum investment of $80m to deliver a 150-room hotel and 1,000 homes on at least 1,000 acres with recreational amenities.

The senate also passed Bill 455, which supports the state’s existing casinos by reducing the table games tax from 35 per cent to 25 per cent, the number of live racing dates to 60 and the annual licensing fee from $2.5m to $1.5m.

Both bills now head to the House for approval.
