The next phase in Scientific Games’ move to new European headquarters is about to get under way, reports Marco Herrera, managing director of gaming for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The merger of the group’s legacy companies, Bally, Shuffle Master and WMS, has led to the completion of the EMEA division and the group is now consolidating its sales, service, support and manufacturing under one roof.
Starting now, the company will begin to close its Dutch headquarters in Badhoevedorp and move its functions to Barcelona, Spain, hoping to be fully up and running by December 31.
The Spanish headquarters are at C/Leonardo Da Vinci, 24-28, 08191 Rubi, just outside the Catalan city, and is only 20 minutes’ drive from Barcelona airport.
Herrera said that the group will maintain its support offices in Vienna, Austria, Chester, UK, and Johannesburg, South Africa. The Bally systems business will remain in Nice, France.
The management team under Herrera is led by Jon Lancaster, executive sales director for the EMEA, Stelios Tsapatos, who will head sales in Europe, and Wavell Alexander, who will lead the South African sales. Between them, the senior management team has more than 50 years’ experience in the business.
