Talks between Robinsons Land and Universal Entertainment over developing a $2bn casino resort in Manila, Philippines, have ended with no agreed deal.

Japan-based Universal had been in talks with the Philippine property developer over what would be the country’s biggest casino resort development since late last year.

"Upon mutual agreement, Robinsons Land Corporation and Universal Entertainment Group have decided not to pursue discussions between them concerning the proposed development," Robinsons said in a statement.
