A new report in Northern Ireland has made 57 recommendations to improve the gambling industry there.

Report

As reported by NewsLetter, the document is the result of research by the Northern Ireland All Party Group on Reducing Harm Related to Gambling between December 2022 and January 2024.

It says that gambling should be recognised as a public health issue and that there should be a financial levy on gambling operators to fund research, education and prevention of gambling harms.

An independent gambling regulator to be implemented is another recommendation made by the report.

The document was made public at Parliament Buildings in Belfast on Monday.
