WMS Industries yesterday reported financial results for its fiscal 2009 first quarter ended September 30, 2008.
Total revenues increased 14 per cent to a first quarter record of $151m and global new unit shipments rose 12 per cent to a first quarter record 5,492 units (average selling price improved four per cent to a quarterly record $13,331).
Average installed participation footprint grew 12 per cent to 9,394 gaming machines and the installed base increased 295 units to 9,616 units, or three per cent, from June 30, 2008.
The average daily revenue increased 14 per cent to a record $68.75 per participation unit. Gross profit margin rose 300 basis points to 63.1 per cent, primarily reflecting a 240 basis point improvement in product sales gross margin to 50.1 per cent.
