The 10 casinos and two resort casinos in Pennsylvania, US, collectively employed 17,736 people at the close of the state’s fiscal year of 2016-17, said the state Gaming Control Board in its Annual Diversity Report.

Of those employees, 89 per cent were residents of the state and 37 per cent were from ethnic minorities, while 43 per cent were female.
The casinos spent more than half a billion dollars in the year on construction and other expenses.
