In anticipation of the legalisation of video lottery terminals in Ohio, Penn National Gaming is to acquire Beulah Park racetrack in Grove City, Ohio.

Beulah Park, which opened in 1923, includes 210 acres and features live racing between October and May. According to Peter M Carlino, chief executive officer at Penn National, the park offers significant opportunities for gaming.

"With ownership of Raceway Park in Toledo, this transaction will provide us with another opportunity to benefit form the possible legalisation of VLTs at the state’s seven racetracks," he remarked. "We look forward to working with the local horsemen and the Ohio State Racing Commission to continue delivering both racing entertainment and a wide variety of summer attractions at Beulah Park."
