The US Supreme Court could give New Jersey casinos the go-ahead for sports betting as early as tomorrow.

The widely expected move by the high court will end a six-year battle by state lawmakers to bring much-needed financial relief to Atlantic City.

If legalised by the court, sports gambling could bring in roughly $9bn in annual revenue to the state, according to one estimate – more than tripling the $2.68bn net 2017 revenue from Atlantic City’s seven casinos.
