More than $500m will be spent building a 200m high hotel and sports bar at Jupiters casino, soon to become the Star Gold Coast, on Australia’s Gold Coast.
Star Entertainment Group said the company proposed to build the hotel tower on the "ocean side" of the casino property. The 700-room tower would double the room capacity at the venue.
The "sports theatre" will have large screens where big sports events from around the world will be screened. The expansion is part of a three-city push by the Star Entertainment Group - with its business partners Hong Kong-based Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and the Far East Consortium - in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sydney.
