As the Asian market develops, emerging jurisdictions will look to introduce new standards for gaming equipment, it has been claimed.

As each jurisdiction expands its gaming offer, new legislative frameworks are being developed to ensure that the industry moves away from its largely unregulated past, as John Rochester, SVP of sales for Australia Asia-Pacific at BMM International, explained.

“Macau and Singapore are leading the way to show other Asian countries that regulated markets can deliver strong and healthy gaming revenues and profits," he said. "Countries will be taking control of their gaming technology standards. They will be evolving them to meet the ongoing requirements of their governments and gamblers in a way that delivers harm minimisation programmes, technical compliance and functional assurance based on the particular characteristics of their own gaming markets."
