Morocco is due to get a new gaming and mixed-use development, work on which will start later this year.

The 1,000-acre project is planned for the holiday city of Ouarzazate in the middle of the country near the Atlas Mountains. It will be the largest gaming location in the country, including several casinos and six themed hotels with more than 3,000 beds.

There will also be three residential villages, an outdoor movie theatre, museum, golf course and aquapark. Ouarzazate has become a popular place for travelers from abroad who want to experience the heart of Morocco.

It is also a well-known locale for filming movies, with Lawrence of Arabia and The Sheltering Sky being shot around the city.
