Australian operator Crown is about to make its first impression on the Nevada market following a recommendation from the state's Gaming Control Board.
The board has approved a licence for Crown for the $700m M Resort at Las Vegas Boulevard South and St Rose Parkway. If approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission, M Resort would become the southernmost resort in the Las Vegas Valley and the first venue seen by travellers from southern California arriving in Las Vegas on Interstate 15.
The resort would have 351 standard rooms and 39 suites, an 8,547sq.m casino with over 1,800 slot machines and 60 table games, nine restaurants and several bars.
The control board also recommended approval of a licence for Crown in its bid to acquire Cannery Casino Resorts, which operates three properties in southern Nevada and is building a casino in Pensylvania.
