More major changes have been announced at the leading German manufacturer/operator Merkur Group.
There are a number of new names added to the group’s management board and a significant promotion to the overseeing supervisory board of the company.
Jürgen Stühmeyer (pictured), who has led the sales at the group and is a member and vice-chairman of the management board, has been elevated to the supervisory board. He is also becoming a director of the Gauselmann Family Foundation which is noted for its charitable works.
Stühmeyer has over 37 years with the company rising from trainee to the top level.
His elevation to the supervisory board is welcomed by Michael Gauselmann, who recently took over from his father as chairman. “Together with my father, Jürgen has made a significant contribution to developing the Merkur Group into a successful international company. The success of our adp (the machine manufactory) bears his signature. With his move to the supervisory board we will make even greater use of this potential in future to secure the long-term growth of the group.”
Additionally, Dominik Raasch, head of Merkur Sales is now on the management board, together with Meik Sellenrick taking over the group’s national and international arcade business, and David Schnabel, managing director of Merkur Spielbanken will take over the new role of head of the casinos management board division.
The moves come into force from January 1, 2025.
The changes effectively reassign responsibilities for the major business segments of sales and gaming operations.
Michael Gauselmann paid tribute to the departing Dieter Kuhlmann, who has for years headed up gaming operations for Merkur. Michael said of the retiring Kuhlmann: “The enormous success in this business segment is inexorably linked with his name.”
