The Netherlands’ gambling regulator has fined Merkur Casino Almere €45,000 for allowing access to a person who had self-excluded.

Kansspelautoriteit says that between February 17 and March 2 last year, a person registered on Cruks, the Dutch self-exclusion program, was allowed at the Almere property on nine different occasions.
The regulator adds that Merkur employees received an error message when checking the data saved in Cruks for the customer in question.
The KSA says the operator’s protocol should have been to deny access to the person.
