The Gauselmann Group’s Merkur Casino arcades have been named "Germany’s most popular venues" by the influential Focus-Money magazine.
A survey carried out on behalf of the magazine by Deutschland Test and the Cologne-based analysis and consulting company Service-Value, also awarded the operating company with "very good" accolades for the best range of games, best staff, highest level of reliability, best service and best ambience. The company took first places in all of the categories.
CEO Paul Gauselmann said: “As the market leader in Germany, the top position is of course our target. It is wonderful that the players see it that way and have given us such an excellent rating. The tireless commitment and enthusiasm of our employees ensure that our guests feel comfortable with us every day.”
A total of 1,376 customer ratings from 14 arcade operators were evaluated to determine the most popular arcade. The other awards were the result of 26 sub-aspects. It was the fifth successive year that Merkur Casino was named winner in the annual test.
The awards are seen as vindication of the group’s apprenticeship scheme for young staff. Currently 76 are completing their training as machine specialists at the group’s own training establishment.
