Maverick Gaming of Las Vegas has acquired Great American Gaming Corporation, it was announced last week.

The deal is subject to regulatory approval but will include three card room casinos in Everett, Tukwila and Lakewood, all in Washington state. The purchase was from Great Canadian Gaming Corporation of British Columbia and the price was US$56m.

Included in the transaction are three casinos with 45 table games, four restaurants, three bars and supporting amenities. Maverick is a new (founded in 2017) gaming company and owns the Wendover Nugget and Red Garter Hotels in Wendover, Nevada.

It is also in the course of buying the Red Lion Casino, Gold Country Casino and High Desert Inn in Elko, Nevada, from Navegante Management. Maverick’s purchase of Great American means it will have a total of 12 properties in Washington.
