The Merkur-owned location opened last Friday after seven months of lockdown. It will serve as a test bed for the Saxony-Anhalt authorities’ model for reopening non-essential businesses. It first had to qualify with a seven-day incidence of less than 100 infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

The casino has also had to guarantee complete testing of all guests and digital contact tracking as well as qualified evaluation of the findings of the project. The approval is given for a four-week test period.
