The news was shared on the institution’s official WeChat account on Tuesday.

While Macau’s overall score actually fell during the first quarter compared to 2023 - when it reached 84.09 points, taking third place in the ranking - its score of 83.49 in 1Q24 landed it in first place, as other regions saw declines.

This is the first time that Macau has been ranked as the most satisfying destination for outbound travelers from mainland China.

The survey also mentions that mainland residents are enthusiastic about traveling to Hong Kong and Macau, while the living radius of Hong Kong and Macau residents continues to expand into the mainland. Additionally, the ‘one-hour living circle’ of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area is accelerating.
