The IR Implementation Bill, which allows for the development of Japan’s first integrated resorts in three yet-to-be-specified locations, passed through the Cabinet Committee of the House of Councillors, but not before opposition parties made one last attempt to halt its progress, reported Inside Asian Gaming.

The Constitutional Party of Japan was among a small group of opponents to submit a no-confidence motion against House of Councillors pPresident Chuichi Date, claiming he had prioritised IR bill over disaster assistance amid widespread flooding across the nation. The motion was quickly voted down.
