The Italian gaming media, Gioco News, reports that the country’s four casinos saw a drop in revenues of €103m in the year, compared with 2019.

The coronavirus lockdowns - the second of which is still in force until at least January 15 - have had a dramatic effect on casino turnover. Collections, excluding online gambling, of the Saint Vincent Resort and Casino amounted to €29.6m, Venice €41.5m and San Remo €23.5m.

In 2019 the comparative figures were €30.9m higher, Venice €51.2m and San Remo €20.9m higher. The industry also saw a sharp decline in visits, 57.3 per cent fewer across the country.
