Having revealed plans to relocate ICE Totally Gaming 2013 from the soon-to-be demolished Earls Court site to London's ExCel exhibition centre, organiser Clarion has received the backing of key exhibitors.
Speculation over the future of the London show, which has become arguably the most important international gaming show, began when it was revealed that the Earls Court exhibition centre is to be closed and the site redeveloped for housing.
In June, it became clear that the only real alternative was to hold the event at ExCel, which is larger than Earls Court and has a history of hosting major events, including the recently created EAG Amusement Expo.
In 2013, EAG is anticipated to take place on January 28-31, while ICE Totally Gaming will be held in early February.
The move to a new venue has now been welcomed by several high-profile gaming organisations. Among these are Novomatic, Playtech, IGT, Atronic International, TCS John Huxley, Astro Corp and WMS Gaming, which, between them, account for 4,500sq.m of stand space.
Clarion’s Julian Graves said the show was moving to ExCel, which is set to benefit from new transport infrastructure developed in advance of the 2012 Olympics, at a "great time."
