Germany’s Gauselmann Group has sold off its gaming industry interests in Hess Cash Systems.
The Stuttgart-based Hess produces money processing equipment, notably the Scorpion, which was used in both casinos and arcades. Its principal business, however, was processing equipment used in banking and back-office management.
The gaming industry business has been sold to Martin Grandia, a principal in the Dutch cashless gaming systems specialist REAC, and Grandia has created a new company, Cash Support, to handle the Hess equipment and new products for the gaming industry.
REAC has worked in harness with Hess on money handling processes, using the Scorpion automated teller machine which has been introduced to many casinos globally and also into some Dutch arcades.
The principal sales executive for Hess equipment in the gaming industry recently departed the company. Erik de Kat (pictured) left two months ago, but has now been reintroduced to the new Cash Support and will head up the organisation. He will be marketing the new CTM (Casino Teller Machine) in casinos and arcades.
