The Hard Rock Maldives is to open on October 1, 2018.

Hard Rock International announced the plans this week, adding that the location would also see a Hard Rock Café Maldives.

They will open as part of the Emboodhoo Lagoon project, a resort destination built in conjunction with Singha Estate Public Company, a major Thai development company.

The Emboodhoo Falhu is a 20-minute speedboat ride from the Male Airport, with connections to the Middle East, Asia and Europe. The first phase will be a US$311.5m project including hotels, entertainment, retail and dining.

Hard Rock runs many casinos world-wide in regulated markets, but this new location will not have a casino.
