Hard Rock International buying the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas from Blackstone is a done deal, the blog VitalVegas reports.
The property would be rebranded as Hard Rock. The blog first reported in May that the Cosmopolitan was being prepped for a potential sale by laying off staff to cut costs and halting credit lines.
In coming to the Strip, the Hard Rock will be competing with Virgin Hotels, which has acquired the off-Strip Hard Rock to be converted to its own brand. That Hard Rock was owned by private investors, not Hard Rock International.
