Gaming Partners International is a step closer to gaining a foothold in the new Delaware, US, table gaming market, having obtained permission from the state lottery to conduct business there.

GPI is still awaiting approval to become a licensed gaming vendor in the state but is now able to sell chips, gaming tables and related equipment.

Following Delaware Lottery’s decision, the company received major orders from two of the state’s casinos - Dover Downs Hotel and Casino and Harrington Raceway and Casino.

"GPI is extremely pleased to receive these initial orders for this table game market expansion," said Greg Gronau, president and chief executive officer of GPI. "This market is on the fast track with tight deadlines and we will assist these gaming properties to best prepare for the expeditious implementation of table gaming on their casino floor."

The company is supplying all of Dover Downs’ gaming chips and related equipment, and will provide Harrington Raceway with gaming tables and pit and poker host podiums.
