Gaming Partners International has delivered over 69,000 casino chips and plaques to Gran Casino Costa Brava in Spain, which opened on July 22.

The chips and plaques, which are from the company’s Bourgogne & Grasset line of currency products, were fitted with 125KHz RFID microchips. Along with the chips, GPI also provided the casino with integrated RFID cashier’s desk and table top readers.

"We are very pleased with the chips and plaques supplied by GPI," said Francisco Fiol, the casino’s manager. "The RFID microchips and readers secure our casino currency collections and make the job of the cashiers and inspectors easier."

Greg Gronau, president and chief executive officer of GPI, said the company was delighted to work with Gran Casino Costa Brava.

"They were searching for the highest quality and durability in its casino currency, as well as the most reliable security features and our B&G chips and plaques with integrated RFID technology fulfilled all of their requirements."
