Major US-based operator Caesars Entertainment Corp has signed a preliminary agreement with ASF Consortium to develop a casino on the Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia, according to the national daily newspaper The Australian.

Gold Coast casino for Caesars

The resort casino planned will cost US$2.2bn. ASF has searched for an operator partner for the project, finally settling on Caesars following failed earlier talks with big Australian operator Crown Resorts.

ASF was granted the rights to operate a casino on the Gold Coast four years ago. The Gold Coast would be Caesars first entry into the Australian market.
