Last week’s Gambling Indaba, Africa’s only major gaming machine exhibition and conference, was a considerable success, said the organisers.

The event was bolstered this year by help from UK-based Clarion Gaming, the owner of the world’s largest gaming show, ICE in London. The Johannesburg event had a packed conference hall and a strong turnout of manufacturers, including some very big names, such as Aruze, IGT, Novomatic, Konami and Aristocrat.

Regulators and trade missions from a number of countries were there, including Namibia, Morocco, Mauritius, Seychelles, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Kenya and Nigeria. Local organisations taking stands included the Gauteng Gambling Board, the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation and the National Lotteries Commission.
