With cashless payment methods getting ever more popular, are cash-free casinos the way of the future?

Wherever we look these days, it seems cash is giving way to cashless payment solutions. According to banking body UK Finance, only six per cent of payments made in the UK are expected to be made in cash by 2031.

If true, the UK is hardly an outlier here. Worldpay from FIS Global Payments reports that, while cash was the most popular payment method for global point-of-sale transactions, it still only accounted for 30.2 per cent of them in 2019. That fell sharply to just 20.5 per cent through the pandemic and continues to decline.
