The inaugural Japan Gaming Congress was held at the Conrad Hotel in Tokyo last week.

The two-day event, the first international congress in Japan to address the latest casino legislation, attracted a sell-out 390 attendees.

Key government representatives from the Liberal Democratic Party and Japan Restoration Party admitted that the goal of passing the bill will be challenging, with only five weeks remaining in the current session, but indications were optimistic.

Moderator Harmen Brenninkmeijer led a debate on integrated resorts with operators from Wynn, Las Vegas Sands, MGM, Boyd Gaming and Bloomberry Resorts.
