The New Frontier Casino, which was one of the first themed casinos to be developed on the Las Vegas Strip, is to be imploded today.

The casino first opened its doors in 1942 under the name Last Frontier and was where Elvis Presley performed in Las Vegas for the first time in 1956.

The Wild West-deco gambling hall will be imploded to make way for a US$5bn mega-resort planned by IDB Group and Elad Group.
