Elektroncek, manufacturer of the Interblock multi-terminal gaming devices, announced at IGE last week that it has gained a gaming licence for the US state of Nevada.
After seven years of hard work and investment totalling millions of dollars, the Slovenian company, which already holds licences in 19 North American gaming jurisdictions, has obtained the ultimate gaming prize.
Electroncek partners Joc Pececnik and Thomas Zvipelj have spent the past five years working with Nevada’s State Gaming Control Board and a team that included lawyers, American financial experts, veterans and former regulators.
“I think the applicants have done a pretty remarkable job in responding to regulators’ concerns,” said board chairman Dennis Neilander at the hearing in December. Neilander had previously referred to problems with the application as “irreparable.”
The company will soon begin distributing its electronic versions of table games in Nevada. The games, including roulette, blackjack and craps, are gaining popularity in regions where live dealers are prohibited.
At the show, Electroncek featured a new multimedia display that allows players to watch, for example, a football game while playing and a new keno multiplayer. It also showed a new dice game (sic bo, craps and other dice games can be played on it) that uses RFID technology to ensure 100 per cent reliability.
Another product highlighted was the first gaming machine that is able to shuffle real cards. It can house up to eight decks and some decks can be shuffled while others are being played.
