Although quieter than in previous years, last week's SAGSE Buenos Aires show in Argentina was nonetheless successful for Bulgaria’s Euro Games Technology, said the company’s Ivelina Mihaleva.

“We have managed to have successful meetings during the show through which a significant number of machines will be installed in Argentina,” she said. “It is the most important show in Latin America and, in addition to Argentina, we are able to close deals for other Latin American countries.”
At this year’s show, the company was showcasing its Vega Vision+ series of games, featuring widescreen monitors, decorative lighting and ergonomic cabinet design. These “elegant” upright and slant top solutions include games in Spanish to appeal to South American players, said Mihaleva, who explained that all of the company’s regional sales staff are either locals or Spanish speaking.
“We are very close to our customers here and can offer technical support and convert equipment,” she continued.
Following the economic downturn, operators have continued to be very cautious when purchasing new equipment so it is important to offer good terms and pricing. Despite this, operations in South America are continuing to invest in their properties.
“We definitely believe that 2012 will be more successful than 2011,” Mihaleva said.
