During the G2E gaming trade show in Las Vegas, it was announced that UK company Octavian International has been acquired by Australian-listed company eBet.

If ratified by shareholders, the US$42.5m deal will result in a merger of the two companies’ operations and the creation of one major international gaming systems company. Octavian develops and markets games and systems for 30 different countries.

As a major gaming systems company, eBet is involved in the development and sale of a range of networked solutions for gaming machines throughout Australasia, Asia and North America. Its customers operate nearly 50,000 machines, and eBet also has card-based cashless gaming systems, player tracking and loyalty systems.

Octavian CEO Harmen Brenninkmeijer will become executive chairman of the new company, while his Octavian Group managing director, Hans Zeidler, will become deputy executive chairman.
