The Shreveport Times reports that the site will go to Foundation Gaming and a $200m renovation project will then begin on the property. It is expected to re-open at the end of 2024.

A new building will be erected on the 24-acre site, said the new owner, Foundation, based in Mississippi where it operates the Fitz Casino in Tunica and the WaterView Casino in Vicksburg.

It is planning a 47,000 square-foot casino, over 400 bedrooms in a hotel, a sportsbook and a live entertainment venue. An adjoining riverboat will be sold off.

Diamond Jacks has been closed since early 2020 when the pandemic caused the then owner, Peninsula Pacific to shut it down.
