Total GGR hit DKK2.5bn (£287.7m) and DKK1bn (£112.99m) after tax.

“We are satisfied with the development in the first half of 2024, and I am happy that we manage to both raise the top and bottom line and at the same time strengthen the work to ensure healthy gambling habits among customers,” said  Peter Christensen, chairman of the board of Danske Spil.

“We are proud that the positive development from recent years continues, both in terms of responsibility and profits for the community.”

Danske Spil said high pools in the lotteries, especially the Eurojackpot, helped push gross gaming income up.

But while there was a decrease of DKK4m (£451,952) in revenue to DKK826m for betting and casino provider Danske Licens Spil, the summer’s European Champions fuelled “great interest” in Oddset’s products and a rise in customers.

Danske Spil has not changed its revenue forecast of between DKK5bn (£564.9m) and DKK5.2bn (£587.5m) for 2024.

It expects to generate between DKK1.8bn (£203.4m) and DKK1.9bn (£214.7m) in profit after tax in 2024.

Danish Lottery Games’ revenue for H1 2024 climbed from DKK1.37bn (£154.8m) to DKK1.45bn (£163.8m) year-on-year.
