With the gradual easing of the pandemic restrictions in the Australian state of Victoria, Crown Resorts has had permission to start operating a limited number of games and tables at Crown Melbourne.

The approval is conditional upon certain conditions, including restricting operation to 10 designated VIP areas, each with a maximum capacity of 10 patrons with no smoking, physical distancing between patrons and the deactivation of every other machine or electronic table game.

Guests are limited to 90 minutes to play per day and a Covid marshal has to be in place for each of the VIP areas. Additionally, there must be enhanced hygiene protocols in place. The operations will restart on Thursday, November 12.

Said Ken Barton, CEO: “We have been working for some time with the Victorian government and health authorities to determine how we can safely reopen Crown Melbourne and have developed extensive physical distancing and hygiene measures to allow reopening in a safe manner.”
