Colombian gambling regulator Coljuegos said the National Council of Games of Luck and Chance, an advisory body attached to the Ministry of Social Protection, probed the Bogotá Lottery and Lotería de Manizales in its checks.

The Lotería de Cúcuta, the Norte de Santander Service Network and Lotería de Quindío were also observed to ensure the maintenance of best practices.

Coljuegos president Marco Emilio Hincapié said: “During these visits, we also address key aspects of the operation, topics such as the control of illegal gambling and feedback on the behaviour of sales and transfers of territorial games in the past period.

“Our intention is to promote the improvement of processes by operators that results in greater transfers for health.

“With these visits we want to strengthen the institutional presence in the territories and guarantee adequate surveillance of the resources of games of luck and chance that are transferred for the health of Colombians.”

Coljuegos said the CNJSA plans to carry out inspection and surveillance visits to all territorial gaming operators in Colombia.
