A casino executive is among the victims of the fresh Covid outbreak in Macau, it was confirmed overnight by Inside Asian Gaming.

The outbreak is alarming the six licence holders in the Chinese territory, whose business is only just recovering from a long shutdown or partial reopening from the last round of the pandemic.

The total of infections is now up to 36 according to a government press conference.

Analysts have downgraded Macau’s GGR forecast in face of the outbreak, one estimating that revenues would be down 91 per cent on June of 2019.
