Four major consortiums are competing to build the first casino in the Canadian province of New Brunswick.

Century Resorts International, Marriott Hotel International, Navegante Group and ADI Group are among partners in the consortiums, but details about the plans will not be revealed until five government committees choose a winning proposal.

The opening is projected for early 2010 and the successful operator will receive a licence for 20 years. It is expected that the casino could have up to 800 slot machines.
