A new US$48m second-floor casino area was opened yesterday at the MGM National Harbor in Maryland, US.

The casino, which opened its doors in December of 2016, says that it has responded to customer demand by creating the extended gaming area. The 38,000sq.ft level will house a bigger poker room, off-track horse betting and 285 slots with a new bar and restaurant.

The extension will bring 250 jobs to Prince George’s County where the casino is located. MGM National Harbor is already the largest tax contributor in the county and the largest contributor of taxes from the six gaming licence-holders in the state.
