Playing card manufacturer Cartamundi has announced the death of its CEO, Chris Van Doorslaer, on Saturday, December 16.

Van Doorslaer has been Cartamundi's CEO since 1997 and was the driving force behind the success of the company. Under his leadership Cartamundi grew to become a world leader in cards and games.  The chairman of the board, Jean-Louis de Cartier de Marchienne, said: "The shareholders, the board of directors, the executive management and the entire workforce are deeply saddened and extend their sincere condolences to the family, relatives and friends." In the interim, a steering committee has been installed under the leadership of the chairman and managing director Frederic de Somer.
