The committee will study the requirements necessary for carrying out “the proof of concept of physical equipment such as video lotteries, point of sale, terminals, totems,” and other solutions for “the commercial exploration of lottery products.”

The lottery claims that the initiative will not only modernise the sector, but also “expand business opportunities, attract new partners and boost the economy of Rio de Janeiro by generating thousands of direct and indirect jobs throughout the state.”

The work of the internal committee must be carried out within 30 business days from the publication of the ordinance (Thursday, April 3), subject to any extensions.
