Legalised gaming took another hit in Brazil when casinos were removed from a larger tourism bill, Games Magazine Brazil reported.

Brazil

Deputy Paulo Azi, who oversees the Chamber of Deputies Tourism Committee, pulled an amendment to the tourism bill that would have legalised casinos in just two Brazilian states, citing lack of support.

It’s the second loss for gaming legislation this year in Brazil following the rejection of a larger gaming bill in the Senate.

But a broad gaming bill is still pending in the Chamber that reportedly has more support, though has not seen any recent action. It would allow casinos in multiple states, online gaming, sports betting, bingo and lotteries.
