A bill being processed by the Senate in Brazil could prohibit advertising, sponsorship and promotion of fixed-quota bets and online games, as well as bets related to election results.

The bill has the objective of reducing the scope of advertisements related to gambling in order to reduce damage to mental health, according to its author, Senator Randolfe Rodrigues.
The bill would alter the laws that regulate online sports betting. Among the main changes is the prohibition of bets on elections and any form of advertising about bets in media such as radio, television, internet and social networks.
It is also planned to prohibit the pre-installation of betting applications on electronic devices.
